These terms explain the rules for using the Emad Aswani learning platform at emad-aswani.com. Please read them carefully. By creating an account or watching a tutorial, you accept these terms in full.
1About these terms
These Terms and Conditions form a binding agreement between you and Mr. Emad Aswani regarding your use of the website, the student dashboard, the tutorial library, the quizzes and any related material (together, the "platform").
If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not register for an account and do not use the platform. If you are under 18, you must have a parent or guardian read and agree to these terms on your behalf before you register.
2Who we are
The platform is operated by Mr. Emad Aswani, an independent chemistry and science tutor based in Egypt. Wherever these terms say "we", "us" or "our", they refer to Mr. Emad Aswani and the team that runs the platform on his behalf. You can reach us using the details in section 18.
3Who can use the platform
The platform is intended for students who are enrolled in, or preparing for, the school years covered by our tutorials, together with their parents and guardians. To register you must:
- provide your real first name, last name, school year and a working email address;
- confirm your email address before you can request access to any tutorial;
- have permission from a parent or guardian if you are under 18 years old.
We may refuse, suspend or remove any registration where the information given is inaccurate or where the account appears to belong to more than one person.
4Your account
Your account is personal to you. You are responsible for everything that happens under it, so you must:
- keep your password confidential and never share it with anyone, including classmates;
- never share, sell or lend your account or an access link to another person;
- hold only one account at a time;
- tell us straight away if you believe someone else has used your account.
You may sign in with an email address and password, or with a Google account. If you use Google sign-in, you are also bound by Google's own terms for that service.
5Requesting tutorial access
Tutorials are not open to everyone automatically. Access works as follows:
- you open the tutorial page and press Request Access;
- your request is sent to Mr. Emad for review, together with the date and the network address you sent it from;
- once the request is approved you receive an email and a notification, and the tutorial becomes available in your account;
- access may be granted for a limited period. When the expiry date passes, the tutorial stops playing until access is renewed.
Submitting a request does not guarantee access, and we are not obliged to explain a decision. A request stays open until it is reviewed, so please do not submit repeated requests for the same tutorial.
6Network restriction
Your access to a tutorial is tied to the internet network you were using when you requested it. You must watch the tutorial from that same network. If you connect from a different network, playback will be blocked even though your account and your access are otherwise valid.
This restriction exists to keep paid tutorials from being shared between students. Please request access from the network you actually plan to study on, for example your home connection, rather than from a mobile connection or a network you are only using temporarily.
If your network genuinely changes, for example because you moved home or your provider changed your connection, contact us and we will review and update your access. Deliberately masking or changing your network address in order to get around this restriction is a breach of these terms.
7Fees and payment
Fees for tutorials are agreed with Mr. Emad directly and are paid outside the platform. The platform does not process card payments and does not store any card details. Amounts received are recorded against your account only so that access can be granted and tracked.
Access is granted after payment is confirmed. Because tutorials are digital content that becomes available to you immediately once access is granted, fees are not refundable after that point, except where the law requires otherwise or where we agree in writing.
8Acceptable use
When you use the platform you agree not to:
- record, screen capture, download, copy or re-upload any video, document or quiz;
- share access links, tokens, passwords or downloaded material with anyone else;
- attempt to bypass, disable or interfere with the video protection, the access controls or the network restriction;
- use automated tools to scrape, crawl or bulk download content from the platform;
- attempt to access another student's account, data or results;
- probe, scan, overload or otherwise attack the platform or the servers it runs on;
- use the platform for anything unlawful, or in a way that harms other students or damages Mr. Emad's reputation.
We monitor access records, including network addresses and playback activity, in order to detect sharing and misuse. Serious or repeated breaches may result in loss of access without a refund.
9Quizzes and assessments
Quizzes are provided so that you can check your own understanding. You must complete them yourself and without help that is not permitted. We record your attempts, answers, scores and the network address used, and Mr. Emad can review these results.
Scores shown on the platform are for guidance only. They are not an official certificate, qualification or school result, and they do not guarantee any particular outcome in your school or national examinations.
10Our content and your licence
All tutorials, videos, notes, documents, quiz questions, images, branding and the platform itself are owned by Mr. Emad Aswani or licensed to him, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights.
When access is granted, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to view that content for your own study, for as long as your access remains valid. You are not given any ownership rights, and no other use is permitted without our written permission.
Anything you submit to the platform, such as quiz answers or messages, remains yours. You give us permission to store and process it so that we can run the platform and give you feedback on your progress.
11Availability of the service
We work to keep the platform available, but we cannot promise that it will be uninterrupted or error free. Access may be paused for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control such as internet outages or a failure at one of our providers.
We may add, change or remove tutorials and features over time. If a tutorial you have paid for is removed before your access period ends, contact us and we will offer a replacement or a fair adjustment.
12Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close your account, or withdraw access to a tutorial, if you breach these terms, if we reasonably suspect account sharing or content piracy, or if we are required to do so by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to explain.
You may stop using the platform at any time and ask us to close your account. Closing your account does not entitle you to a refund of fees already paid, and it does not remove records we are required to keep.
13Third party services
The platform relies on a small number of trusted providers, including a secure video hosting and protection service, Google for optional sign-in, Google reCAPTCHA to block automated abuse, an email delivery service for notifications, and our hosting provider. Their handling of your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
Links to external sites, such as our social media pages, are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites.
14Disclaimers
The platform and its content are provided for educational purposes. While the material is prepared with care, we do not warrant that it is complete, error free, or suitable for any particular examination syllabus, and we do not guarantee any specific result or grade.
Except as set out in these terms, the platform is provided as it stands, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law.
15Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of data, or for loss of opportunity or examination results. Our total liability to you in connection with the platform is limited to the amount you have paid to us for tutorial access in the twelve months before the event that gave rise to the claim.
16Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add features or when the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect. If a change materially affects your rights, we will let you know by email or through a notice on the platform. Continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept the updated terms.
17Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the courts of Egypt have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. Nothing here removes any protection you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
